sketchfab
Carving discovered in Scale Knoll Allotment area, Barningham Moor, County Durham. This small pyramid-shaped panel is located just off the peak of a small knoll and can be quite difficult to locate. It's referenced as number six in Beckensall & Laurie's 1998 publication 'Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale' and was added to ERA by NADRAP as 'Barningham Moor 13' in 2008. Historic England describes: "The carving consists of five cups, each with one ring, three of the cups featuring a groove descending from the cup." Visible peck marks remain within the motifs, and there's a noticeable lack of wear. This is likely due to either being covered or moved relatively recently. ERA record: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=812 Historic England scheduling: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1017409 A 3D model was created from a single stereo pair captured by NADRAP Team 5 in July 2008. The imagery forms part of the ERA/NADRAP archive.
