Rock Carving Discovered on Barningham Moor, County Durham A small rock carving, nestled at ground level, can be difficult to locate even with GPS guidance and multiple visits under one's belt. Mentioned in Beckensall & Laurie's 1998 publication 'Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale,' the NADRAP Team 5 added it to ERA in 2008, describing the carving as follows: A groove runs from the western edge to a cup situated centrally. Two additional cups follow the same line further east. At the south-east corner lie two small depressions that could be worn cups or natural formations. The scheduling document mentions only one cup and groove. The imagery is part of the ERA / NADRAP archive.
