Barney Bank Scan #1
thingiverse
A comprehensive 360-degree 3D scanning of an antique 1970s Barney Rubble and Bam Bam bank, which I have owned since my early childhood, was carried out using a Kinect device combined with a beta version of ReconstructMe software from http://reconstructme.net. The original STL file generated by ReconstructMe is included, along with a cleaned-up version (processed in Meshlab and NetFabb Studio) ready for printing purposes. Additionally, I uploaded a model re-meshed using Poisson filter in Meshlab, resulting in a more refined, smooth appearance. To successfully utilize a turntable with ReconstructMe software, it is crucial to ensure that everything within the scanning volume rotates concurrently with the table, or else artifacts may arise in the final output.
