UPDATE 03/2017: The little woman has had one of these on her crossbow for several months now. It's held up well, much longer than the stock spring. The original one was printed in ABS, but I broke it by accident. So, I replaced it with one printed in PLA, which should last longer than ABS. The ABS was too brittle. Between the two of us, we've had over 200 shots using these springs now. We're hoping you like them! I originally got the idea from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1170347. However, I had trouble getting mine to print successfully at first. My printer's hardware settings were way off. Finally, I fixed that issue and printed one for my girlfriend's bow and another for mine. We'll see how they hold up. This version is designed from scratch with added stiffening. Print Settings: Printer: Duplicator I3 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 100% Notes: If printing ABS, use a raft; PLA doesn't need one. The part has a very small profile of 4.5 mm, which isn't enough to prevent warping during print.
