Barley Twist Vase
prusaprinters
While playing around with OpenSCAD one day, rotating shapes around an axis, I stumbled upon a configuration that somewhat resembles the decorations on all of the “barley-twist” furniture my parents brought back from England. It basically does a linear_extrude with a twist of a selected shape. Three shapes are included; between those and adjusting the parameters at the top, you can produce some interesting effects. This is a vase based on that design.STLs rendered from the other shape options are also included. The barley_twist shape is printed in American Filament pearly silver PLA on my Hypercube 300. A more functional (read: larger) vase could be made by either scaling the STLs in your slicer or (better) editing and re-rendering the SCAD file.
