Barker Dam Inscription

Barker Dam Inscription

myminifactory

This inscription was carved into the top of historic Barker Dam located in Joshua Tree National Park. It commemorates the Keys family's contribution to raising the dam between 1949 and 1950. The original dam was built by CO Barker back in 1900. The dam plays a vital role in providing one of the only water sources within the desert park, making it a popular hiking destination. I captured this scan using 15 photos, which were then processed with Agisoft before being solidified using Blender. We previously discussed creating 3D models like this and much more about 3D printing on the 3D Printing Today podcast, available through iTunes, Stitcher Radio, or by directly accessing http://threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com/
