Here are the fascinating details about this relic: Manufactured by the renowned VEB Barkas-Werke Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz), East Germany's answer to robust engineering, this impressive engine is a Type EL150, boasting a displacement of approximately 143ccm or roughly 150ccm. With its remarkable power output of 3.5 HP at an astonishing 3000 RPM, it's no wonder it remained in production from 1953 right up until 1990.
