Barista Encore Coffee Grinder knob

<p>The journey into 3d printing here is more important than the actual knob…</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;I had been interested in 3d printing for years, made it to the maker in NYC each year. I THINK I met Joe Prusa and didn't know it one year? what I do remember is an MMU unit at a table that had a printout of the N64 logo, in which i said “that's how you get me to buy a printer…” Anyway, my 250 dollar coffee grinder knob broke, and i joked with my wife I was going to buy a 3d printer to fix it, my reason for buying one was complete. Maker mag 2015 had the Prusa Mk3 as the printer of the year, so I was going to essentially buy a 750 dollar replacement knob for my coffee grinder (another joke with my wife)! So, i ordered my printer and got a box of parts and some candy, next thing I knew I was printing a frog. I now had a new problem, I cant find a part to print for my grinder, and I do not know how to use CAD… welp I put my learning hat on and watched long tutorial on the old interwebs called “learn fusion 360 or die trying", I went through all the tutorials and started making all sorts of stuff. I am now a non-professional but I think skilled designer for fusion and have been creating and printing almost constantly for about 5 years-ish around there? People at work know me as the printer guy, and I love the hobby. Thank you Prusa. This knob represents a journey that only our community would understand.&nbsp;</p><p>Everyone is a maker only i am a printer…</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>ps. This knob is functional, working, inefficient in every 3d printable aspect, ugly, and I love it like a child. I Dont have a printed picture of it because I have since replaced and make more fun ones like my giant wheel one available in profile</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
