Introducing the Baricuda Extruder for 3D Printing Sugar and Chocolate Derived from the renowned MakerBot MK2 Frostruder, this air-pressure driven extruder, dubbed "baric," unlocks limitless possibilities as a *U*niversal extruder by incorporating a *D*egree *A*mplifier (a clever addition of temperature control) to enable the extrusion of anything imaginable. The source code and files are hosted on Github: http://www.github.com/jmil/BariCUDA We employed this innovative extruder to precisely extrude sugar templates for engineering vascular tissues in regenerative medicine research. For further details, visit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VHFlwJQIkE This versatile tool can be utilized for: 1) Molten Sugar Extrusion 2) Molten Chocolate Extrusion 3) Molten PLA and ABS and other experimental plastics Extrusion 4) Molten Extrusion - A *U*niversal Extruder capable of handling any thermoplastic material. Your only limitations are your motherboard's capabilities and the number of MOSFETs you have at your disposal (for controlling pneumatics, just like the Frostruder). Operation is identical to the Frostruder; simply add a heating element and a thermistor for temperature measurement.
