Baricuda Extruder for 3D Printing Sugar and Chocolate
thingiverse
Introducing the Baricuda Extruder, a versatile 3D printing tool that can handle sugar, chocolate, PLA, ABS, and other thermoplastic materials. Originating from the MakerBot MK2 Frostruder, this air-pressure driven extruder stands out due to its Degree Amplifier (temperature control) feature. To use it for sugar or chocolate extrusion, you need to add a heating element and thermistor. The Baricuda Extruder's assembly instructions are available on Flickr, while the source code and files can be found on Github. For successful operation, sugar and chocolate precision extrusion should be controlled by temperature rather than air pressure, with recommended temperatures of around 100°C for sugar glass and avoiding water for chocolate. Assembling the Baricuda Extruder requires a Frostruder MK2, laser-cut parts from rigid materials like 1/4" MDF, RepRap holder for the extruder, specific bolts, nuts, washers, and aluminum standoffs. Enjoy precise sugar and chocolate extrusion with this innovative tool!
