The village elder stood at the entrance of the small thatched hut, a look of curiosity etched on his weathered face. "Bard Villager," he said, his voice low and smooth as honey, "we have need of your unique talents." The villagers had always been fascinated by the Bard's ability to weave words into magic, to make the ordinary seem extraordinary with nothing more than a well-placed phrase. And now, it seemed, they needed that skill more than ever.
