Barbell Holder (Cradle) for Rack
thingiverse
Yesterday, I combined 2 of my favorite hobbies: physical training and 3D printing. When loading/unloading my barbell for deadlifts, the knurling on the bar wrecks the powder coat on my rack's bottom support. Additionally, I'm worried about the knurling taking a beating. Enter 3D printing... I took a few quick measurements, whipped up a cradle that fits over the bottom support but with a little lip on the bottom to keep them in place, but still allow them to slide freely. They're printed in carbon fiber PETG for now. If they don't hold up, I'll use that as an excuse for trying to print in nylon for the first time. It's designed for a 2"x3" rack and a 28.5mm barbell, but the STEP file is included if you want to make modifications for your setup.
