Barad-Dûr (Sauron's Tower) Dice Tower Re-Fenced
thingiverse
Thank you CorujaCork for creating the original dice tower (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3026187) design! I've modified it to include .ipt files for easy printing, and also added a fence rebuild that provides more room for the dice to roll. The new design is fully scalable and printable in pieces at full size. I've also included an alternate version with a peaked door that requires less support material and has a more aesthetic appeal. Some users may prefer this option over the original. In 2020, I made some updates to the tower design: larger holes were added to ensure the dice fit properly when scaled down, better split parts were created with assembly holes, a slightly larger upper ramp was included, and the ALT version was redesigned as a peaked door. The tower is now 490mm tall and 265mm deep. For users with smaller printers or limited table space, scaling down to 70% will result in a tower that's 343mm tall and 185.5mm deep. This scaled-down design still accommodates standard 16mm d20s comfortably. The fence is now 160mm in diameter, and the top section is 173mm tall. If these dimensions are too large for your printer, scaling down to 70% will result in a fence that's 120mm wide and a top section that's 121mm tall. For users who want to print everything at once, a 220mm build plate can accommodate the entire design at this scale. I'd like to thank gdalya for being the first person to successfully print the full-size tower, and CorujaCork for pointing out an issue with the original holes not fitting standard dice at 70% scale. I've made adjustments to ensure that the model splits at similar heights and can be printed on a Prusa Mini at full size.
