This protection module is designed specifically for the Baofeng UV-5R radio. Its purpose is to shield the transmit button and volume controls, allowing it to be safely stored in a bag or backpack when not in use, such as during rock climbing adventures. The software keypad lock takes care of securing the front buttons. Additionally, a separate piece protects the lapel mic port from damage or disconnection due to excessive strain. To install this protective module, you will need two M2.5 screws that normally secure the clip. Note that version 2 has some improved features and is still under development; however, I have chosen to leave the old files intact for reference purposes. Due to printing difficulties with the rounded section around the volume knob, a square bridge was substituted instead.
