Banoosh (traditional fishing boat used in the Arabian Gulf)

thingiverse

Brief History: This type of boats were used around the Arabian Gulf mainly for fishing and pearl hunting, this specific design is native to Bahrain (it differs slightly from region to region). For centuries our grandfathers spent the summer months (April to September) in the middle of the ocean on these boats, till oil was discovered. Printing the banoosh: I have modelled the piece to be printed without support, it will test your printers overhang capabilities when printing the roof. the over hanged back piece (stern) has its support modelled and it can be removed normally after printing. The infill pattern is gyroid (cuz why not) Scaled down to 60% (don't go any lower than 30%) Settings Used: - Layer height: 0.2 mm - Line width: 0.44 mm - Printing temperature: 200 C - Plate Temperature: 60 C Printed with Pearl White PLA Banoosh played a big role in our legacy and it saddens me to see valuable history gradually vanish and not heard of. This piece is free for everyone to download and remix. Just so it can live on here forever.
