Banjo Thumb Pick

Banjo thumb picks are typically made from plastic rather than metal. It makes sense to have printed one since they tend to get misplaced and buying a new one can be frustrating, even though they're not expensive. This pick printed in about 7 minutes, so unless you live right next door to an instrument shop, this is a pretty convenient option. The main issue with any kind of printed picks is that the layer lines should ideally run parallel to the strings if possible. However, this thumb pick has been designed to be printed on its side, which means the layer lines run perpendicular to the strings, so there's no risk of scratching them. This design also adds strength to the flexing section. The rounded part that strikes the strings is intentionally long to allow it to be filed or sanded to change its profile in ways a 3D printer can't achieve. I found that it worked just fine as it was, but I'm no expert musician!
