Bang & Olufsen Redline 60 speaker repair plate
thingiverse
I purchased a set of Bang & Olufsen Redline 60 speakers (the earlier 6503 model). They suffered from a widespread issue where the bass radiator plate's foam had decomposed completely, causing it to rattle around inside instead of functioning properly. B&O was aware of this problem and addressed it in the next iteration by replacing the radiator plate with a more standard bass reflex port. They even offered a retrofit kit for an extended period. However, these speakers are now approximately 35 years old, making replacement parts impossible. Unfortunately, I've been left with no choice but to repair them myself. To achieve this, I replicated the outline of the original plate using FreeCAD and added a hole suitable for a 1.5-inch 90-degree PVC pipe elbow. Additionally, I created a "filler" plate to extend into the gap between the plate and the front of the speaker. Early versions of these speakers were often missing holes, and the bottom right mounting pocket was misaligned.
