Baneling Head

Baneling Head

I sculpted a creature bust design using Zbrush. The main inspiration came from Starcraft 2, a game I'm still playing during my free time! As for design reference, I used the shape of a Baneling's back as the head of my concept - essentially a mix of veins and bulbs that worked well together. I had a lot of fun sculpting this because I love modeling organic shapes. To achieve those smooth lines and a general look, I used brushes like Form Soft, Clay, Standard, and especially Dam Standard. I also did subtract operations on the internal part of the model to reduce printing time and material inside the mesh. To do this, I chose to append a cylinder, transform it into a cone, and dynamesh everything again. The result was a free support model that's both clean and optimized at the same time.
