BaneBots P60 Gearbox 1/5 Maxstone Crawler Wheels evil-rover02
thingiverse
These parts allow mounting a 1/5 scale Maxstone Crawler wheel assembly to the 1/2" shaft on a BaneBots P60 series gear reducer. The reducer shown is P60S-3333-57, with a 129:1 reduction ratio. Motor is Racerstar 3660 Brushless Waterproof Sensorless Motor (2600kV) from BangGood. Only two gear boxes/motors were available, so only one axle was built so far, and performance remains unknown. Testing with 3C LiPo suggests the motor may be too fast for desired speed, but results will be seen in the future. The 1/5 scale Maxstone Crawler wheel assembly is already owned. The link to purchase the wheel assemblies is: http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c00-98102.html (part number 51C00-98102). Website claims tire diameter is 115mm, but actual measurement is just over 185mm. Two holes for securing the inside part to shaft are sized to be tapped for 10-32 threads. Used 3/4" long machine screws for assembly while waiting for 10-32 x 1/2" set screws to arrive. Use a flat washer and 10-32 x 1/2" machine screw to hold the outer part to the 1/2" gear box shaft. Require 1/8 key stock, 1.25" long. Assembly involves: Slide the key stock into the key way on shaft with the end of the key stock just shy of the end of the shaft. Slide the inside part onto the shaft (holes should already be threaded and machine screws installed). Secure the outside part onto the end of the shaft. Slide the inside part all the way to the end of the shaft so it contacts the outside part. Tighten set screws on the inside part. Remove the outside part. Put the wheel assembly on and press it on. The inside part will be slightly recessed with the outside of the wheel hub. Secure the outside part to the shaft. The shaft on the motor used is slightly too long for the P60 gear box. A 1.5mm spacer has been included to go between the motor and the gear box. M3x10mm cap head machine screws are required to secure the motor to the gear box (included M3x8mm will be too short). Update: 1.5mm and 2.0mm motor spacers do not provide enough clearance inside the gear box. A 3.0mm motor spacer has been added for the Racerstar 3660 motor. A 6mm motor spacer has also been added for a Turnigy XK3674 motor (3mm longer shaft). The Turnigy motor has not been tested on the gear box yet. A fixture was included to hold the motor square in a bench vise, allowing pressing of the pinion gear onto the motor shaft. M5x10mm screws are required to press against the rear end of the motor shaft. Files for parts in latest pictures have been added - gear box mounting brackets for the 3 stage P60 gear box, underside guard and holder for 3/4 square aluminum tubing used to house motor/encoder cables to the front, fenders, blank chassis end plates (photos show temporary end plates used for construction), and mounts for 2x30A Roboclaw motor controller. A top cover has not been done yet. The correct motor/gear box support brackets have been uploaded.
