To prevent small scraps from falling into your blade's gap, this simple 3D model on Thingiverse is highly useful. Created for my older Burgess bandsaw, it can be easily resized using SketchUp or similar tools. Just print the design, flip it over aligning it with the guide, and cut the slot using your saw. Turn it back, mark the alignment notch location, and cut it out. Finally, fit the completed insert.
