Bandsaw Tires
thingiverse
I had an old Craftsman bandsaw just sitting idle in my garage, but its tires were literally falling apart, rendering it completely useless without them. Tired of waiting for parts to arrive from Amazon after they sent me the wrong item, I felt a pressing deadline looming and knew that 3D printing could step in and save the day. I had some flexible filament on hand, but my Prusa i3 MK3 printer's bed was the real obstacle - it's a 250mm x 200mm bed, and the saw tires are about 10 inches in diameter, posing quite a challenge. Some quick math and trial-and-error later, I landed on a design that stretched to fit my saw perfectly with just a bit of effort required. Since installing them, I've been impressed by how well they work - it's quieter than ever before, and the cutting performance has been top-notch. I continue to be amazed at the problem-solving power of 3D printing and the learning opportunities it provides.
