Band Saw Low Clearance Insert
thingiverse
A recent dumpster discovery was an old, rusty Delta Band Saw measuring 9 inches, complete with a broken blade, malfunctioning tensioner and missing parts.\r\n\r\nI managed to source the tension bolt (or obtain a suitable replacement) acquired new blades and borrowed a spring from my daughter's outdated crib for the compression spring, which provides belt tension by resisting the tension bolt.\r\n\r\nThe final component I needed to repair is the table top insert for the blade. You can easily stick your finger in the gap without it making a significant difference in reducing blade wobble or twist, no matter how close together you set the guide wheels.\r\n\r\nThis design prints a solid block specifically for the Delta Band Saw (an uncommon square recess instead of the more typical circle). It will need to be carefully placed and cut in.\r\n\r\n**I am not yet finished with this project, still requiring a few more fit tests as I continue sanding to achieve a snug fit.**
