Band Saw Box 'laminated'
thingiverse
Band saw boxes are wooden containers crafted solely with the aid of a bandsaw, allowing for unbridled creativity in design. The wood used can be a solid block, a laminated block, or even a log from the woodpile. Unlike conventional boxes featuring straight sides and square corners, band saw boxes have virtually no restrictions on shape. I recently stumbled upon this unique style of box and felt compelled to create a 3D printable version - hence, here it is. Typically, band saw boxes are cut from laminated blocks, so my filament interpretation employs black PLA and ColorFabb Woodfill http://colorfabb.com/woodfill-fine. To accommodate the change in black filament spools mid-print, I opted for a combination of glossy and matte blacks. The design includes two sets of drawers: one with supports and another without. Feel free to use whichever suits your needs best. Enjoy! Print Settings: Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: low res 0.4mm Infill: low infill Notes: I printed this with a 0.8mm nozzle at 0.4mm layer height, aiming for a 'rough-cut' look that turned out fantastic!
