The Allegorical Bank, sculpture in the botanical garden, was created by Catalan sculptor Frederic Marès in 1923 and won the National Sculpture Award that same year. Frederic Marès, a Spanish artist of the 20th century, began working at the modernist sculptor Eusebi Arnau's workshop. From this period is his first monument to the city of Barcelona, in Clot Square, dedicated to Canon Rodó (1919). The allegorical bank was conceived during the author's first artistic period, which explains its rigidity and elegance, both characteristic of Novecentismo. It is a large rectangular bench with a monumental backrest between columns, on whose front appears an allegorical and mythological scene in relief, with a three-headed horse as the center of the composition, a half-naked woman turned away, and other female figures around her.
