Creating stunning photorealistic models of everyday objects requires innovative techniques and affordable tools. One such approach is Lowpoly Photogrammetry, which leverages smartphone cameras to capture high-quality images. In this case, a humble banana becomes the subject of artistic rendering. Utilizing an iPhoneSE, a versatile camera capable of producing remarkable image quality, photographer captures multiple angles of the banana from various lighting conditions. The resulting images are then fed into Meshroom, a powerful software that utilizes Structure from Motion (SfM) algorithms to reconstruct the 3D model of the subject. Following this process, Instant Meshes takes over, simplifying and refining the mesh generated by Meshroom. This step is crucial in creating a clean and detailed model suitable for further editing and refinement. The final stage involves importing the refined mesh into Blender, a leading 3D creation tool. Here, artist can add textures, materials, and lighting effects to bring the Lowpoly Photogrammetry model to life, transforming it into a photorealistic replica of the original banana.
