BambuMute - The ultimate overengineered muffler for your BambuLab

WHY?I love my BambuLab X1 Carbon, yet it makes a hell of a noise. I do not have a basement or garage to put it in, so it needs to quiet down. Slowing down the chamber fan in the print profile has a huge effect, but I needed more. So, I overengineered a little :-) With a smartphone app and 1 minute measurements on the same model, I measure noise reductions of 5-7dB. Updatev2 was enhanced to fit larger 10mm diameter magnets. Thanks for the feedback! DESIGNBased on the great design by eds_3d_shop, I went crazy and designed this muffler to reduce the noise of the chamber fan. Here's what I changed and how it is designed:Inspired by the design of sound studios, I added a ton of sound isolation pyramids. They are long on the outside and shorter on the inside to guide the air out of the bottom. The sides are covered in orthogonal spikes to further block noise from exiting the muffler. The BambuMute is magnetic, I moved the magnet holding brackets from the outside to within the walls to save space. There is now room for two stacked 10x3mm magnets (or one 10x6mm) in each socket (four sockets) to increase grip. Important: Use high quality N52 magnets. The muffler is heavy as pointed out in the comments. Strong magnets will hold it securely in place.A TPU rubber seal can be printed to reduce vibration, increase grip and prevent noise from getting out.Still AMS compatible. SETTINGSPrint the BambuMute in PLA or PETG. Layer height should be <0.2mm to make the spikes look nice. I used 0.16mm, 0.08mm will look amazing. The rubber seal, I printed in 82A Filaflex TPU. A small layer height did not work for me in TPU. I used 0.2mm. ADDITIONAL MATERIALMagnets: The BambuMute has four holes for magnets. Each hole fits a) two 10x3mm magnets OR b) one 10x6mm magnet. As said, use high quality N52 magnets, since the muffler is heavy. Just glue them in place. I have these ones for example (affiliate link). MTS Magnete (not affiliated) in Germany also has a really high quality, but is a bit more expensive.Glue: For the magnets and to fix the rubber seal in place. Happy silent printing!Peter
