Bambu X1 Carbon MC board Noctua fan housing
prusaprinters
This is a remix of Renba's fan mount to allow a little additional airflow. The original ducts all of the air directly into the heat sink, which is good if all you want to do is cool the heat sink, but the original fan also circulated air across the rest of the MC board. (Arguably, the original fan circulated air across everything except for the heat sink, but that is neither here nor there, I suppose.) This design installs the fan across the heat sink such that it cools both the heat sink and the surrounding board; additionally, it opens up the sides of the heat sink to allow air to escape, rather than blocking perpendicular to the fins. Here's the Onshape file for it: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/84a8f9fbd3f1a47f12fd4bf8/w/41fb5a4560d93380d5484519/e/997836aef93bfcfd515a69b9Fan wiring, from /u/Hilbe on Reddit:Dark Gray (Next to Black) -> BlackBlack -> YellowLight Gray (Next to White) -> GreenWhite -> BlueI made this out of PLA, but there is a good argument that PLA will age poorly, especially with the heat of the heat sink right there. If you have PETG, you might want to use that instead.I printed this with tree-light supports, and it seemed to work well.(This is the same one as the one I originally published on Thingiverse, but 1) Thingiverse won't seem to let me log in for some reason, and 2) I want more Prusameters.)
