I purpose build a cabinet for my new X1 Carbon + AMS to go alongside my other 3D printers. But I overlooked getting to the purge material (filament poop) and didn't leave room for other methods (3D printed box, scoop, etc). So instead, I have the filament being routed straight to the garbage can. This is a two part print that could be printed at the same time, but you'll probably need to adjust the files as each printer placement is kinda unique.Magnets I used: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CPV7X8Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Pipe/Tubing I used: https://www.lowes.com/pd/IMPERIAL-3-in-x-96-in-Foil-Flexible-Duct/4566290___The “Attachment Coupler” attaches to the back of the X1 and X1 Carbon with magnets. It doesn't have a top so you can help line it up with the integrated Poop Chute. The hole is slightly bigger to give more leeway. It is imperative it is either flush or slightly lower than the bottom so filament doesn't get caught. The tube slides over the end, so you may want to get a clamp or something to hold it on. I tried a big zip tie, but that wasn't strong enough to squeeze it. Maybe double sided tape would work.Supports will probably be needed depending on how you print, but as this is a functional print and you'll never see the inside, it is possible to print without them (maybe just “crucial areas only”). Add a pause gcode before the magnet holes are covered up to make sure you can install them. Also block supports inside the magnet holes if using tree (auto) or hybrid (auto) or just turn on “On Build Plate Only”.___The "Enclosure Side Coupler" is designed to fit into a 2.5" square hole in a shelf a few inches away from your printer. It has little pieces sticking out to keep it from sliding through, which need support. The tubing slides into this piece and shouldn't need anything holding it in, but you can add something for insurance.___Of course the exact dimensions on the angle and tubing size is unique to each set up. I have my printer on a 2" paver and 2" of foam, so you'll probably have to edit the X1_Feet and X1_to_Hole_Length variables. I've included the Fusion360 file and all variables are on the Parameters table, so it should be a simple matter to fit your use case.
