UPDATE 29Sep2022

I have added an additional HEPA filter bracket to fit 82x40x15 filters from Amazon. Please measure your filter before printing the correct bracket.

BentoBox is an air scrubber that sits inside the X1C/X1 chamber. It can be run:

standalone with a separate 5V power source (get the 5V fans),

connected to Aux fan port (for X1) and enable the aux fan when printing. (24V)

or piggyback on the chamber fan (X1C) with a cable splitter. (24V)

connected to the AMS with the led light mods to turn on the lights and Bentobox manually at one go.

Wiring

This is where I need the Bambulab community's help to showcase how BentoBox is wired to the printer. Please post your build on Bambu Lab's Facebook group or Discord and share how you do it. The 40mm fans are meant to be run at full speed. Hence 2-pin 40mm fans with no feedback would suffice.

Instructions

It's 170x110x56mm in exterior dimension and sits on the right rear side of the chamber. There is an L-shaped slot at the base which helps alignment and a 2mm gap between the BentoBox and the walls of the printer. this is to allow the wiring and allows the use of a double-sided tape to secure it to the side wall.

The CARBON and HEPA Box uses magnets to stack onto the BentoBox.

I have designed the magnet holes to be 6.2x3.4mm. For some calibrate flow, you maybe able to press-fit the magnets into the hole. But if it's too loose, use some glue.

CARBON Box can hold roughly 250ml of activated carbon pellets. That should last 3-4 months of printing. Only use Acid-Free activated carbon pellets that are at least 3mm in diameter.

HEPA filter needs to be cut into 41x90mm rectangle with a max height of 25mm

Or u can get 40x80x15 hepa filter from Aliexpress. You will need to print “BB 804015 Hepa Bracket.stl” as a holding bracket.

It is better to stack in show orientation. Where the HEPA Box filters the large particles and the VOCs get caught in the CARBON Box.

The air movement coming out from the bottom should be a very gentle breeze. I would recommend 4020 or 4010(high pressure) fans that pull around 8.5cfm this will provide enough static pressure. Below are links to the GDSTime fans that I used.

4010 24V GDSTime 8.3cfm 75000rpm from Aliexpress

4020 24V GDSTime 9.0cfm 7000rpm from Aliexpress

BOM

24pcs - 6x3mm magnets

4pcs - M3x8 screws

4pcs - M3xD4.6xL4 brass insert (if you print the brass insert version)

2pcs - 4010 / 4015 /4020 24V fan

4-8pcs - M3 screws to secure fans to bracket

Wires

Double-sided tape

If you like my designs and want to contribute to my coffee addiction, a donation of $2 to Ko-fi or paypal.me will be greatly appreciated.

Caveat

As with all my designs, it may and may not work for you.
