This thing was designed to fit [this lamp set](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FRVZ2LQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) I purchased on Amazon. I wasn't satisfied with the amount of light from the internal lamp in the X1 Carbon. I wanted more light, but there is very little room available inside the machine for lights to be mounted, and then you'd have to figure out a way to power them. My initial solution was to place the lamps on the glass top of the machine. Of course, just placing them there was not too practical, since I have an AMS. The lamps fit underneath the AMS, but everything shifted all over the place when the printer really got going. I designed a mounting system for the lamps that would keep them in place on the printer, even when the printer was moving vigorously. I added recesses for the AMS feet in the tops of the light mounts because even before I added the lamps, I noticed that the AMS would shift around on the glass top during heavy printer movement. The AMS sits on top of the light mounts, with its feet in the recesses in the mounts. The mounts are held in place by the brackets, so everything remains stable, even when the printer is rocking and rolling at its highest speed. The last item is the light shade. I noticed that there was significant glare from the front lamp, and didn't want that. The thin part of the lamp shade slides in over the front lamp, between it and the top of the light mount, effectively blocking the glare. 2023-01-17 Update: I wanted to be able to take the AMS off of the top of the X1-Carbon, so I needed a way to keep the middle lamp in place. I designed side brackets for that purpose. You will need four of the brackets - they are all the same. They are designed to interlock, and are a tight fit around the bracket for the middle lamp. I also printed lamp shades for the other two lamp. 2023-02-12 Update: I wasn't really happy with the original design of the side brackets, but they were an expedient way to secure the light brackets, and didn't require a me to redesign everything. I redesigned the light brackets and side brackets to use a dovetail-like connection. They are now more aesthetically pleasing, and provide a better fit. Please refer to the last four pictures to see how the brackets all fit together. Enjoy!
