BamBam Rubble
myminifactory
BamBam, from the beloved Flintstones cartoon show by Hanna-Barbera. The Flintstones cartoon takes place in a charmingly exaggerated Stone Age setting, showcasing the daily lives of the Flintstone family and their closest friends and neighbors, the Rubbles. BamBam is the adopted son of Betty Rubble and Barney Rubble after they discovered him left on their doorstep with no apparent history or connection to his past. BamBam was designed in proportion to my Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Pebble, and Dino models, carefully crafted to capture the essence of each character's unique personality. No supports are required when printing this model. If you have the correct filament colors, painting is unnecessary as well. The finished model stands 155mm tall after assembly. Enjoy printing this model, and I hope you have a fantastic time creating it! ..................................................................... Printing and Assembly Tips 1. As with most of my models, no supports are required when printing. 2. Make sure to clean any first layer squish if you experience difficulties joining parts. The parts should fit nicely when printed cleanly. 3. There are a number of very small pieces that can easily get lost if you are as careless as I am. It's a good idea to simply print extra pieces of the small parts since they are fast to print. 4. Use your discretion for rafts/brims on the bone pieces since they have smallish bases and are top heavy. 5. On a personal note, my wife still says Pebbles looks much cuter than BamBam! Assembly Tips: 1. For ease of assembly, I suggest inserting the eye_whites into the eye_blacks with the smooth side facing out but either way works. 2. The head snaps into the hair_bottom with a bit of pressure. Be sure to align and push the head completely up and into the hair_bottom for a complete fit. I did not use any glue on this part. 3. The bones fit into the slight indents in the strap piece, and the larger portion of the bone simply rests on the pants. Look carefully at the bone; it could accidentally be positioned upside down. Left/right bones pieces are ever so slightly different and could be switched if you get them confused. 4. I use a tacky glue to put my models together, E6000, so I have plenty of time to position them correctly. The body, strap, and pants are all glued together; if you're using a fast-drying glue, make sure to fully test-fit the pieces and decide on the best order of gluing them. 5. A general note: I struggled with this model in order to create it without supports. Therefore, I made some concessions to the iconic pose that the character normally takes. In addition, there are some very small design flaws that I simply could not get around. I am still happy with the model and appreciate your feedback. 6. Refer to the assembly diagram for putting the model together. The model is meant to be glued.
