Cover that fits snugly around both the base and top of balusters. Baluster Shoes: What You Need to Know These baluster shoes are specifically designed for 1/2-inch type balusters, but I found that there can be some variations in size among different manufacturers. The 1/2-inch baluster, in particular, has shown to be around a few thousandths of an inch larger or smaller than expected, which may be due to the paint applied or the specific manufacturer. When creating baluster shoes, it's essential to get accurate measurements by either printing actual size or scaling down to around 98% or 96%. This "friction fit" approach ensures a tight fit on the balusters. To avoid any issues with overhang, try rotating the model by 45 degrees (around the Z-axis) during printing. The "Multiply" feature in ReplicatorG allows for quick and efficient production of multiple shoes at once. Although it doesn't necessarily speed up the printing process, it's convenient to start a batch of eight without requiring manual interaction with the printer. With the right settings, you can achieve smooth prints with minimal issues. Using a .2mm layer thickness, "no raft," and hair spray has worked well for me in the past. Printing eight baluster shoes within four hours was achievable with these conditions.
