This Bronze Age funerary monument, known as a 'Clava Cairn', is situated within a cemetery of similar monuments that are expertly managed by Historic Environment Scotland. The cairn features a kerb composed of massive boulders measuring 16.75m (55 feet) in diameter. The stones gradually decrease in size from 0.9m at the entrance on the south-west side to 0.45m at the rear, while the cairn itself reaches a height of 3m. Surrounding the cairn is a stone platform that has been overgrown with grass and measures 3-5.5m wide and 0.45m high. The chamber, approximately 4m in diameter, remains intact at a height of 2.1m. Eleven standing stones, including one small earthfast stone, encircle the cairn in a circle that varies in diameter from 33.5 to 35.5m. The two stones situated on either side of the entrance stand 2.75m and 1.6m high respectively. A stone within the passage bears cupmarks, as does one located on the north side of the kerb.
