Bally Judge Dredd pinball flipper opto curtain
thingiverse
My opto sensor curtain for left flipper suddenly broke, and it's clear why - its metal component snapped in two. I decided to create a replacement using PLA, which was surprisingly easy given the intricate design. The fact that this piece has been repaired before suggests that wear and tear is a significant issue, but I'm eager to see how long this new version will last. This part plays a crucial role in triggering the flipper button, as it moves away from the optical sensors when pressed, registering the action. Print Settings Resolution: 0.3 mm Notes: To achieve the desired level of detail, I printed at 0.3 resolution without any support structures. Although the bridge presented some challenges, proper nozzle cooling made all the difference. Post-Printing The curtain itself has a small raft that helped it stick to the bed during printing. However, this will likely need to be removed before it can be used effectively in its intended application.
