Balloon Powered Turbine

Balloon Powered Turbine

The idea came from experimenting with the balloon car; initially, regular balloons were used for spinning the turbine. However, they had larger necks causing leakage and required holding in place. A version 2 was created to address these issues, featuring a larger inlet and output shaft diameter. The turbine works by attaching a straw to the inlet and blowing air, creating a turbo whistle sound. New balloons were purchased for testing, but only ran for about 3 seconds. To replicate this project, measure the necks of the balloons and print specific parts accordingly; version 2 parts are recommended for larger necks. Assembly involves manually drilling a hole in the housing and attaching the pin to the rotor. For best results, glue the clip if needed. If designing a machine or vehicle, create a custom pin that works as an output shaft. A video demonstration is available at http://youtu.be/8Q6svYMZowU.
