Balloon Air Cushion Disc
thingiverse
This Air Cushion Disc comprises seven distinct components and was specifically designed as an alternative to air cushion tables for conducting various experiments in physics class, including topics like momentum, collisions, and accelerated movement. Each experiment allows for the mass of discs to be adjusted by loading them with different objects. By selecting a valve position, one can choose between allowing the disk to float freely, adding a sideways component of airflow to generate an accelerated movement, or completely stopping air flow. The disc's mass can be doubled or tripled by inserting three or six standard M12 hexagon nuts into the recesses. Additionally, experiments with inelastic and elastic collisions can be conducted by attaching flexible or sticky elements to the perimeter of the ring.
