balljoint led lamp
thingiverse
This is a basic LED lamp designed specifically for use on a ball joint mount. It's perfect for freehand sculpting unique lamps, so artists can unleash their creativity. To start, simply enable the sculpt mode and dynamic topology in Blender, and focus only on the front faces. Quickly results come when symmetry is locked in place. An example STL file and final Blender file are provided as a starting point. The creator plans to add more designs to the collection as soon as they can make them available. In the meantime, enthusiasts can look forward to even more unique lamp options. One special block, dubbed the "Tentacle Monster Block", allows users to split ball joints into separate parts for easier assembly and attachment. To create the LED lamp, sculptors simply need to apply modifiers and print the design using their 3D printer. The lamp itself is made up of three LEDs in series, connected to a resistor - either 100 ohms or 330 ohms, depending on the desired color effect and supply voltage. Remember to always keep current below 19mA when powering up from a 12V source. The lamp should fit easily inside any available space once assembled. For an extra touch of permanence, glue the ball joint into place with some ABS juice. Finally, just sit back and enjoy the soft glow of your unique creation!
