Ballistic Angle Compensation Rail Generator for Paintball Guns I built this riser specifically for paintball markers to compensate for the ballistic flight path of paints. It can also be used for airsoft or similar sports. There are adjustable risers like FirstStrike's directly or HHA Optimizer, but I'm still not satisfied with the optimal solution. Since I really like the HHA Opti, I needed a way to adjust the first 40-50 meters and then use the HHA Opti for everything beyond that. Here is the result you can see. This riser is relatively short, made exactly as long as it fits the HHA on top. I've modified the riser in STL format for 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3 degrees. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to check how far the paints will fly. If someone can try it before me and provide FPS and marker type, please let me know. For those who are not satisfied with the above options, I've included the OpenSCAD file. You can customize the riser according to your needs. ### FirstStrike Riser I personally think this riser is too high and too heavy, and it only allows for step-wise adjustment. There's also limited indication of the set distance. Personally, I haven't had optimal experiences with this riser. ### HHA Optimizer Riser This riser was actually developed for bow and crossbow sports. It's flat and has continuous adjustments via a dial. You can also attach scales to the dial so you can directly set the distance. The problem is that the riser cannot be tilted enough to compensate for 50 or even 100 meters (with my RAP4 468 DMR at 280 FPS, it was over at around 45m). ## You'll still need 2x M5x30 screws + 2xM5 nuts! ### Update November 6, 2019 I've added a ~120mm long version with 12 rail segments. I hope the screw hole distance fits. If not, please let me know. Unfortunately, I couldn't print it yet. You can now specify the number of segments in the customizer, and the angle compensation will be automatically calculated. Unfortunately, the rear holder is still not positioned automatically; you'll need to do that manually when changing the segments!
