The Ballast Mound Discovered by Stavanger Maritime Museum in 2017. The mound is visible from a distance, protruding from the seabed in Nedstrand Harbour. Nedstrand emerged as a toll station during the 1600-1700s due to its strategic location outside of fjords where timber and goods were loaded. The exciting era of international timber trade, known as "Scottish trade," has left captivating cultural remnants both above and below water in Ryfylke Fjord.
