A ball valve works as a quarter-turn valve that regulates flow using a pivotable, hollow ball with perforations. The valve is fully open when the ball's opening aligns perfectly with the flow direction, allowing unobstructed passage. Conversely, the valve shuts down completely once the ball has been rotated 90 degrees by turning the handle.
