This stylus is designed for people who struggle to extend their finger to operate a tablet, and have trouble gripping a standard stylus. It's made from Protopasta's conductive PLA. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: normal Infill: 10% Notes: I reduced the infill to make the stylus lighter. I recommend printing on painters tape so the bottom doesn't peel off when you remove the stylus from the print bed. Post-Printing Conductive Foam You will need a piece of conductive foam in the end for this stylus to work better with capacitive touch screens. You can use the foam that IC chips are embedded in, or try using a fresh Scotch-Brite Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge. Cut off the scrubby part and cut a 1/4" by 1/4" by 1" chunk from the sponge. Insert it into the stylus, then trim the sponge so about 1/8" is sticking out. How I Designed This Giving old designs new life For decades, rehabilitation engineers, occupational therapists, teachers, and other allied health professionals have been creating modified styli by punching a hole through tennis or racket balls to make them easier to hold. This updated design uses conductive PLA so that the ball stylus will work with touch screens.
