This fan mount design, though old, is still popular among users who request the files. It's compatible with both your X carriage and a RepRap Mendel's X carriage, thanks to StefanHH's original ball socket concept. The Ball-mounts.stl file contains two different mounts and a fan connector; the fan connector uses an M3 bolt hole. The X carriage mount features an M4 hole that works well with a slightly longer M4 bolt on a MakerGear Prusa X Carriage. The wires stay neat within the ball sockets, which you'll need to print in multiples (e.g., 4x5 of BallSocketSR.stl). The mounted sphere has a larger diameter than StefanHH's original design for better grip. Attach the fan using an M3 bolt or use the third mount for attachment on threaded rods, similar to a Prusa endstop mount. Print in ABS for durability as PLA may loosen over time due to heat exposure.
