Ball Mount 67 Designs for Yaesu FTM-400

This is a custom 20mm ball adapter that works seamlessly with my 67 Designs dash mount in my Jeep, perfectly suited for installing the radio controller head of my Yaesu FTM-400XDR VHF/UHF transceiver. Designed specifically to utilize an M5x20 machine screw accompanied by a 10mm wide lock washer, it likely also functions well with Ram mounts that feature similar clamps, although this has not been thoroughly tested. I deliberately crafted the stem slightly thicker to enhance its ability to hold my radio controller securely even in bumpy situations. To minimize printing artifacts, I omitted supports, which resulted in a slight roughness on the lower half of the ball; however, I figured that removing these imperfections would be just as labor-intensive. I've encountered this issue with all ball mounts I've attempted printing, and so far, no solution has yielded flawless results. Please note that I make no claims regarding the durability or suitability of this design, and users assume all risks associated with its printing and utilization. FTM-400 owners can rest assured that the necessary M5x20 screws and lock washers are included in the radio's accessories bag. To securely fasten the control head, I employ one lock washer internally and another externally. It is essential to note that if this adapter is used on a dashboard mount, printing it with a more heat-resistant material like ABS is highly recommended. In my experience, a PLA version did not withstand summer sunlight temperatures on the dash well. Update: Following user feedback, I have added a 1-inch ball version, which employs the same M5x20 screw and 10mm wide lock washer. This seems to be a more common size for Ram mounts, offering users greater flexibility in their mounting options.
