Ball Joint Vertical
thingiverse
Been searching for a sturdy ball joint that can maintain position without breaking, it seems this one fits the bill.\r\n\r\nReengineered and optimized specifically for vertical printing without support, condensed version tailored to my requirements. Printed at 0.2 mm with and without raft. Raft is definitely the safest option, also the quality of the raft won't impact the functionality of the joint.\r\n\r\nThanks to Sergei for making the original/horizontal version available.\r\n\r\nedit: added dumbbell for projects that require a ball at both ends. You'll find a Raspberry Pi cam holder that attaches to this, and a socket that clips into the frame of an Anycubic Kossel here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3412439\r\n\r\nedit: after some use, mine started to loosen up a bit. Made new ones with an increased diameter of 0.1 mm. Try ball-joint.new.stl and/or dumbbell.new.stl if this happened to you as well. Also decided to stop hollowing these out and instead adjust the infill to 50%.\r\n\r\nedit: successfully experimented with max (45°) overhang, added nuStyle version for those who prefer this style. Also removed the auto-generated nsfw tag lol.\r\n\r\nedit: clips for clipping onto Anet A8 threaded rods (or any M8 for that matter) here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3439521
