Ball Joint Tool
thingiverse
This tool fits perfectly over the end of ball joints, making it easy to turn them and make adjustments. Unlike pliers, it won't scratch the surface of the ball joint's plastic. So far, I've found that it works with Dubro #2135 and the ball joints provided by Extreme Flight for their 48" and 60" planes. It likely fits other ball joints as well, and can be easily scaled up or down to fit different sizes. Printing two of these tools will allow you to place one on either end of the link or use pliers to hold it while turning the joint.\r\n\r\n1/23/18 I've added a new design called Ball Joint Starter.stl. This updated tool provides more leverage and a pommel that makes it easy to start threads in new ball joints. It also sets the ball joint a little deeper, which helps keep it aligned with the threaded rod when starting new threads. Please note that this design will require supports when printing.
