Ball joint

I sought a versatile ball joint for various projects, intending to print it at the specified size, which could potentially work well if scaled up. I have since updated my design, >ballJoint1L.stl<, featuring a taller base that increases screw hole thickness for enhanced mounting security. Printed in ABS, I plan to experiment with Nylon upon resolving printer platform issues. My inspiration stemmed from gorilla tripods, although I do not consider my design derivative; other similar models can be found on Thingiverse. My ABS print exhibits solid construction with a 0.27 slice, two shells at 10% infill, and 237-degree extrusion temperature. The layer structure effectively maintains the ball's positioning while providing stability, although untested with significant loads; it could potentially serve as a stabilizing base for small cameras in non-vibratory environments.
