Ball_Foot for D-Bot
thingiverse
The original design is a fantastic concept and visually stunning.\nHowever, when I last examined it before today, parksddd suggested replacing the corner plates with this alternative.\nFor me, that was a step too far; I preferred metal plates and these can be mounted with greater force than I would dare to use with these printed ones.\nSo I decided to work around those plates.\nA major disadvantage, compared to the original: these have to be printed with support structures.\nI accomplished this with Slic3r (in PLA) and that results in a significant amount of cleaning up afterwards.\nAnd not a very smooth surface on the supported area, but that is not visible when mounted.\nEdit (29-03-19): I removed all previous discussion about softer balls; I now use tennis balls, which provide good damping and minimal swaying.
