I made a custom template for creating a ball detent on my BT-4 printer. My Ender 3 prints the template in about 12 minutes. Once printed, I fill it with hot glue to create the ball detent. When working with hot glue, be mindful of not holding the gun too close to the template to prevent overheating. Allow the glue to dry for a few minutes before disassembling. To take apart the template, use an Exacto knife to carefully shave off any excess glue from the front, creating a flat surface. Then, cut through the PLA template to separate it into individual pieces. This template is intended for one-time use only due to its design, but it requires minimal material.
