ball clamp basic design for multiple usage
thingiverse
I have several projects that utilize ball heads for clamping purposes. This design is intended for general use, allowing the ball head to be disassembled and replaced with alternative parts such as a GoPro mount. To simplify the process, simply enter the diameter of the sphere and the shaft diameters, and the size will be calculated automatically. The calculator will then select a suitable British Whitworth (BSW) thread from the provided table. Note: On October 7th, 2018, I printed a part for testing purposes and found that the thicker swinging flaps around the sphere caused the grip-cover-part to become too tight, making it difficult to insert or remove the ball head when the grip is in place. To resolve this issue, I increased the diameter by 1mm, which could also be adjusted further if necessary.
