Ball caged in dodecahedron
thingiverse
The dodecahedron features parallelogram cross-section beams, with a ball built inside. Separate files are provided for each component, allowing dual-color printing if supported by your printer. It's possible to print the ball first and then insert it into the dodecahedron during printing, pausing at the appropriate height. The model was created in Alibre Design using sweeps and extrusions; a more advanced CAD package would have been beneficial for modeling. An icosahedron project might be attempted in the future with increased ambition, and the model was printed on a Bukobot.
